Bubble Chair

Virtually everything designed by Eero Aanio is the epitomy of cool, and especially his Bubble Chair.

Carrie Bike Basket

Oooh, ever since I let go of my car and moved to this here walking town (sort of) I've said I wanted an old bike with a basket. And look at this Carrie bike basket designed by Marie-Louise Gustafsson for Design House Stockholm that I just came across on the Free People blog... (whew, a mouthful.)

Forget the bike, maybe I just need the basket.

Tide Chandelier

Wow. This is one of a limited edition of ten (all sold i believe) by Stuart Haygarth made of recycled plastic objects. Who knew you could make something so gorgeous out of trash? (found via Inhabit.)

Cool + Smart Stuff

I've always liked globes, and just assumed that when i grew up i would have one. But I don't yet.
The newest Domino reminded me of this, it features a spread of many pretty globes.

The starship earth model from worldglobes.com is the prettiest of all, but also comes with a steep pricetag:

I think this levitating one from Stellanova is also way cool (and it's much more affordable):

You can buy it at the PhysLink Science E-store, along with this mini battery-operated plasma ball:

Is that not the coolest thing in the world -- plasma balls! Whenever I go to the science museum, I want one of these (they are so pretty!), but I didn't know you could actually buy one for your house or even really know what they were called -- until now. You can buy a big one here.

pet baby crawfish

so, i debated about whether to post this or not, especially after my first long weekend absence, but, why not, i want it... da, da, da, da... a umm, pet crawfish.

yes.

i'm from new orleans, so if that doesn't sound strange to you, then i apologize, but to me it's strange words. but, here in new england, i saw one in a little aquarium in a pet shop in the mall (horrors...). and it was adorable and i wanted it. and that was christmas and i still want it. i actually couldn't find anyplace online to order from to link it, but here's a picture of a kid's pet crawfish (his story's here):

and on wikipedi, there's a part about crawfish (crayfish?) as pets... i went back to look at the crawfish at the mall the other day, but it was gone. i still am not sure about this, especially feeding him fish (uggs.) but i think about wanting it more than enough to warrant this post i am sure...

yeah.

Mudd Flats

My sister owns these shoes and when she came in with these Mudd flats on her feet I heard bells and the words: the quest for the perfect flats is over.

Literally. Does that mean I'm crazy? They are so much more cutie-pie in person, and they seemed to run a little big.

Barbie Body Parts Jewelry

Isn't this Margaux Lange jewelry crazy? I found it via Whipup. I just love the heart-shaped breasts for reasons i certainly can't begin to explain. (she has ken bums too.)

And wouldn't something like this would be perfect for valentine's day? Here is a list of places you can buy her jewelry (or rather, make inquiries about buying it)--I copied these pictures here from julie artisans' gallery.

Modern Rocker

My baby is totally gonna have the best room! My nonexistent baby that is. Why do I find it so fun to look at baby stuff and plan some future nursery? Anyway, just look at this Nurseryworks rocker at Design Public:

Infinite Wall Clock

This is only the coolest clock i've ever seen -- made by Progetti, sold at Unica Home (which has a lot of other cool stuff too).

And you can arrange it however you want on the wall.

Wellington Boots

I don't know when or if I'd ever get any use out of rain boots (?), but i've wanted a pair for as long as I can remember. There are so many, many styles and sellers out there, but I've narrowed it down to these:

Town and Country Red Wellington Boots:

Gabriella Rocha's in cherry:

and in solid black:

Marc by Marc Jacobs in army green:

But my favorite of all are these, which I think sold at Target (!), but aren't currently on sale (sigh):

Winged Migration Necklace

I really, really, really want this necklace.

Erica Weiner has all sorts of unusual, even strange, pieces--all handmade. My absolute favorite is above, but I also love her skeleton keys, book-lover necklace and other old-fashioned and charming jewelry. Among the strangest are a hummingbird skull necklace and a penis bone necklace.

Big Jungle Mobile

I hope blabla is still making this adorable mobile if/when i ever have a legitimate excuse to buy it! (Actually, every single thing they make is adorable.)

Alice in Wonderland Dishes

Are these dishes from Fishs Eddy not the most fantastic thing you've ever seen? They also have mugs, a platter and a serving tray.
